Reports from 'Japan Economic News' and China Customs say that China steel export in 2006 is 43.01 million metric tons, 109.6% was increased on the basis of 2005 export. This volume exceeds Japan steel export. China locates No. 1 in the world for steel export. The half sales is for south east countries, and market shares in EU, USA, Middle & South America are going higher too.
To limit the export of steel products, China government already reduce the tax refund for steel series in 2006. However the low added value steel products made in China are too much preponderant in production costs. This made a lot of steel mills immediately expand their output and the actual export was increased tremendously. Nowadays there has already arised some trade friction from USA to complain the low price steel export from China.
